You're among the most privileged people in the world. We don't live in an ideal world, but you happened to be born into an ideal lot. This is not a bad thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of. It just means a lot of other people in the world don't live life with the advantages you have, and that's something you should always be aware of. Hey, the fact that you took the time and effort to check your privilege means that you're already trying.

You're quite privileged. You've had a few struggles, but overall your life has been far easier than most. This is not a bad thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of. But you should be aware of your advantages and work to help others who don't have them. Thank you for checking your privilege.

You're not privileged at all. You grew up with an intersectional, complicated identity, and life never let you forget it. You've had your fair share of struggles, and you've worked hard to overcome them. We do not live in an ideal world and you had to learn that the hard way. There are white people in the world who are struggling.

But those people are not struggling because of their race.

None of the religion ones apply to atheists. And being a teenager living at home, most of the money/tax ones don't apply either.

I don't think "privilege" can be measured because its value differs from person to person. I am just offended that, in this quiz, being sexually assaulted and not having frequent flier miles are considered equal when "calculating" how unprivileged one is...

I guess my biggest problem with this kind of thing is that a lot of times, the ideas of privilege are used to validate or invalidate people's lives and issues. It's like, sometimes it becomes a contest to be the least privileged, because the less privileged you are, the more qualified you feel to have problems. People are made to feel guilty when they have problems and struggles in their lives even if they are born into things that set them at a higher starting point than others. But this is life; everyone struggles, just in different things. It's silly to mock someone in a "privileged" situation for having struggles because literally no one can go through life without experiencing bad and stressful situations. For some people, those struggles are not caused by the situations they are born into. The kind of privilege in this list only works so far; being in a socially privileged situation doesn't guarantee an easy life, and vice versa. It's difficult and kinda faulty to judge people's situation by your or anyone else's standards of what is hard. We're all different. "Don't mock a pain you haven't endured", you know? That goes for everyone; getting mad at each other is a big ol' waste of energy.
P.S. If you're going through a hard time right now, identity-related or otherwise, I'm sending you a mental hug. Everyone is stronger than they think they are, you included.

I don't think many of these commenters understand the idea of privilege. Having, say, white privilege doesn't mean you have never struggled in your life. What it does mean is that you have not struggled BECAUSE of the fact that you are white. The whole point of this article was to show that some people have struggled that they deal with on a daily basis that you don't even think about. Your privilege allows you to do that. I, for one, am a white, straight, Christian woman. I have a lot of privileges. I haven't ever been afraid because I am white, straight, or Christian. As a woman, sometimes I experience fear in parking lots, but that is a different story, while entirely valid. My life is not perfect by any means. But I don't even think about being persecuted for my religion.

This quiz is the very essence of American discrimination on all levels. How about instead of focusing on skin color and sexual orientation we build each other up instead of focusing on where everyone else comes from. I'm a white straight woman and I refuse to feel guilty about that.
