On Wednesday, Jan. 7, an ICE agent in Minneapolis fatally shot a 37-year-old mother of three and US citizen, Renee Good.
As protests rage on, it's become clear that outrage over the shooting and the US government's response is not confined to American soil. With the US set to host matches for the upcoming World Cup, people online have said they're taking action by canceling their tickets to the event — and strongly encourage others to do the same.
"Don't watch blood-soaked football," one user wrote.
In response to the World Cup ticket cancellations, a growing number of Canadians wrote that boycotting the US is not a new concept to them. "Hopefully the rest of the world will get on board," one person wrote.
"We will not be going back to the US as long as the orange turd is in charge," another Canadian X user said.
"Do it. Money is the only thing Americans understand," an X user from LA wrote in support of the World Cup boycott.
I'll leave you with one last suggestion someone offered to really fuel the fire, whether you have World Cup tickets or not:
