My boss Michael would always make racist and sexist comments in front of our whole office. he even pretended to fire me in front of a temp once.

I had a boss who would, multiple times per week, text me that she would be late coming in because she was up all night/morning with diarrhea. We all knew she was a party girl and she would always show up to work hungover and moody AF. After she quit the hotel she forgot to take her work email off her Dominos account so we would randomly see her drunk munchie sessions at 2:00am with 7 sides of ranch. No wonder why she had constant diarrhea. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was 17 and went for a job interview. He said “I’ve got to be careful about taking on young women because they may want to start a family”.

We once had a manager who liked to think he was really ‘hip’. I was stacking shelves at the time in a supermarket overnight. As there were no customers, we used to chat amongst ourselves as we worked. One night he came to the end of our aisle and say ‘hey! A little less conversation a little more action please’ complete with the Elvis lip curl and the ‘thank you very much’ in a very VERY bad Elvis voice. I’m sure he didn’t mistake the looks of disgust he got from us all

Complaining about someone asking for a raise (after vastly increased duties and additional hours), “I wish people weren’t so monetarily-focused”.

My co-workers desk chair randomly had large white stains on it and she joked that it was his jizz stains. Outloud. In front of us.

She was appointed manager after being assistant manager for years. She abused the power, since we were a small branch, the higher ups paid less attention to us. She would approve loans for her male friends without the proper procedures, leave the keys with the security guard. The security had the alarm code and the manager had the key and both needed to be present to open the branch, she would always be late and therefore gave the security guard the keys. She approved a loan for her son (not allowed) and she would dress inappropriately and once forgot to pull her zipper up and was walking around like that in front of customers. She would hold meetings and would say the Vegas catchphrase to keep us from telling other co-workers (gossip).  She was demoted after a whistleblower told on her. For all she did, she deserved to get fired, but was friends with one of the executive directors and was demoted 2 positions down.

I once work at a dry cleaners where all the employees got jackets with their names embroidered on them. It took a while to get mine on for it to come back saying “Chole” instead of Chloe. How the hell does a grown man not know how to spell one of the most popular names in western society?? I was so embarrassed for him I just never said anything

My old manager would call me into his office to flirt, joke with me or show me music or videos. He was a founding member of the company and would literally never be reprimanded or fired for his behaviour. If I rejected his advances or tried to set boundaries, he punished me by forcing me into longer hours, more difficult work, or just straight up insulting me (for example, he once told me I looked bad for a 23 year old out of the blue in front of others). I loved my coworkers and my work but I reached a breaking point and quit out of desperation. He was connected to most people in my profession in the city and it was very difficult for me to find work because he was so angry I left. I went back to school and I’m in a completely different profession now.

As a latina, I was by far the shortest person in the office when I was working in Munich at a start-up. Come Christmas, the CEO wanted us all to hold a banner with the company's name on it. I asked for them to lower it as only my head was sticking over it. The CEO then said outloud in front of everyone, "Oh ohh, her tits aren't in the photo! Lower the banner." The COO and a friend of theirs who they also employed started yelling "Tits out ass out! Get her tits in the photo!" 

There was an awkward silence, we took the picture and he then called me to his office to apologize.

There's nothing worse than having a boss or manager you dislike.

A person with strong managerial skills can be hard to come by!

Oftentimes, an employee has good reason for not liking their boss. Like maybe their comments or behavior in the workplace is just not HR compliant.

So I want to know: Have you ever had a boss or manager who has said or done some embarrassing, cringeworthy things that they should maybe be fired for?

Perhaps you had a boss or manager who didn't have a filter and said whatever. Yikes!

Maybe you had a manager who made inappropriate jokes that caused you to roll your eyes and shake your head over Slack.

Or perhaps this boss actually got fired because HR caught wind of their behavior.
